Pine needles perfume hanging in the air
well I took a tram to the city square
decorations line the streets
chalk dust underneath my feet
I walked through chinatown alone
The televisions cheering from the other room
I ran inside to see who bowled who
while the uncles where playing darts
I got talking to the aunts
I don't know how but I guess they knew
Don't cancel christmas this year

when wish list morning comes
and all the carols have been sung
I know there's things I'd have done differently
they soon become my new years resolutions
all I feel is dissolution

thoughts roll back that I can't explain
like when I tied the tinsel to the patio

and they've just called stumps on day two
