Get Up 04:26
I don't like what the papers say, I don't like what the government say Come together to find a way I'm gonna lose the fear today. The lies are what false prophets say, I lost my faith in the USA, It troubles me what the people say Let's hide the TV screens away. Put it down, turn it off, look up. No fear, let your brain, fly again. Get up get up get up. I don't like what the papers I don't like what the governments say Come together to find a way I'm gonna lose the fear today. Leave behind what the fake books say, Time to find us another way, I'm questioning the news today Let's hide the TV screens away Put it down, turn it off, look up No fear, let your brain, fly again Get up get up get up. Get up get up get up..... .....get up now.

About Hope 05:10
All your worries, all the fear keeps you down. All the trouble, all the time that it takes. Smooth seas do not good sailors make, but things don't change at a constant rate. The waves they look like mountains, the sky becomes the show, And you will still be floating when the wind ceases to blow. They may have the darkness, but you've got the light, by which a thousand desperate people, can find their way at night. All opinions, all the truth never seen. All dominions, congregations you don't fit in. Smooth seas do not good sailors make. Learn to talk with people who you disagree. You know I love the lady, She makes me feel so proud, to see her sails emerging from the cruellest of clouds. They may have the darkness, but you've got the light, by which a thousand desperate people, can find their way at night. All opinions, all the truth never seen. All dominions, congregations you don't fit in. All your worries, all the truth never seen. All the struggles, all the time that it takes.

There's a man at the station and he's waiting for a train and he's waiting in the rain, but he hopes that it's delayed, because he can't make up his mind to go up or down the line. There's a man at the station and he seeks to ease the pain from the troubles in his brain and he's standing on the bridge and he looks to see the time a distant light glows down the line. East to the city, west to the sea, back where he came from or a chance to be free. Comfort and money, familiarity, or risk and adventure, at last a chance to be. Dig a hole, drop your fear, deep underground. Hush the voices, listen close, to what your body says, you're here for a good time, so flap your wings. I could never give as much as you gave me. We chose the view for you, I wish that i could take you, Beautiful boy, beautiful boy. Beautiful boy, beautiful boy. An endless flow of love, you gave us. Beautiful boy, beautiful boy. Beautiful boy, beautiful boy.

about

The EP was recorded live (with only minor overdubs) and the idea behind this EP is to achieve a real live sound that contains imperfections, rather than a studio sound that is overproduced and less emotive. The new original songs were written since an enforced hiatus for the band following the tragic death of Rob’s baby son Joe (the 4th track ‘an endless flow’ is in memory of Joe). Despite the tragedy, the feel of the EP is not mournful but reflects a new positive perspective (Rob and Lou have since had another son, Jasper) and is as the title suggests – about hope.
‘mass deception and corruption’ are listed on the sleeve as an explanation for track 1 (‘get up’) that expresses the frustration of the British press and the lies that endure in the press and distort the public’s perception to the detriment of society.
Track 2 (‘about hope’) explores many subjects with the nautical reference ‘smooth seas do not good sailors make’ meaning that what challenges you makes you stronger. It attempts to offer hope with some autobiographical references.
Track 3 (‘late night, heavy rain, waiting for a train’) is partly inspired by John Martyn’s ‘Man at the station’ and the remote railway station ‘Castle Cary’ in the middle of the Somerset countryside that connects people to Glastonbury Festival. It seeks to encourage people to take risks.
Track 4 (‘an endless flow’) was recorded live in Laverton Church in Somerset, because of the acoustics of the space. The song is in memory of Joe.
