about

The four members from The Cedar come from Bath and Bristol, UK, their music is a mixture between Folk and Indie, influenced by Pink Floyd, Radiohead and The Beatles. The extraordinary sound of The Cedar comes from the variety of instruments they use like ukuleles, clarinets and glockenspiels.
The contemplative lyrics from the singer Neil Gay and the soft sounds of his band members Emma Hooper, Ben Goode and Ben Hostler cause a relaxing atmosphere. Neils breathy and fragile voice combined with the musical genius of the other members make every concert to an unforgetable event.

Review:
"It’s not hard to gather thumb piano, accordion, glockenspiel, violin & trumpet together onstage. What’s harder is to arrange them into textures, dynamics and above all rhythms you wouldn’t get from your bog-standard guitar/bass line-up. Happily The Cedar pass melody lines around so often, so gracefully and so skilfully that they keep a fresh twinkliness at every turn."
