Little Prayer No.8 (Ships)

I'll prove that I'm good once the ringing has stopped,
And I'll challenge all thats bad, once I know that I'm not,
And we can feast on the priest,
My Lady of Shallot,

I'll heave great ships up the hill where you live,
You'll see the scars on my back and you'll be forced to forgive,
Then I'll rename your kids,
After each of my sins.

This downfall was premeditated the paintings were already painted,
With a sheen that made it seem that we did all that we could,
The banquet lay upon the table,
We chewed of the gristle to ensure our fable,
Was glorious in it's turmoil and lack of success.
The meat dripped down onto our laps,
We scoffed and dribbled like jolly old chaps,
I had a lapse my mind collapsed, we acted like the diplomats.
I shook my hair rid of the bats,
I said I loved her and that was that,
Then I rhymed the words cat with mat,
We vomited into our hats.
In anger the diners burst they're fat,
The swine across from me kicked my sack,
They dunked my head in to the vat and re-shaved the skin right off my back.

We grew our beards became tongue in cheek,
The truth we once told became far to bleak,
We swore by the law that these things we would never speak.
Our lives now metaphors and similes,
Stripped from the mountains dressed as christmas trees,
We communicate in imagery make as little sense as can be.
We stumble out into the deep blue sea and swim as deep as deep can be,
In the hope to be put out of our misery,
Set free to be a great tragedy.
But full of hot air we float back to the surface,
And continue to to write songs without purpose,
Churn through the same thoughts to ensure you heard us,
Omitting anything that truly burnt us.
