In the late 1730s the decadent ladies Fled to the west leaving the rest In the flame scarred frown of east London town Where the hookers and bookers reside From them embers rose the rookeries Housing vice and debauchery And the name of this fever Was Madame Jeneva Chorus: Oh drunk for a penny, dead drunk for two Clean straw for nothing come celebrate your suffereing Madame Jeneva, she will decieve ya Slappy Bonita, she will defeat ya Her juniper berries set many a lady's Hearts a-flutter but their soul in the gutter Back streets of St Giles played host to the smiles Of the hags with their gin soaked rags Ms Eastwick and Ms Dafur Ransomed offspring for liquor Escape the horrors of Gin Lane For the labrynth of mother's ruin. William Hogarth sketched the aftermath Ink to paper, some years later Marking the pity and the stench of the city That the well-to-do left in their wake.

about

As a female vocalist, Daisy Chapman toured in Europe with her piano and loopstation and added her beautiful voice to create a sound that competes with the big names in music business. Her current record “The green eyed” is influenced by tango, folk and klezmer and again proves her quality as a solo artist. The passionate woman sings about life and people, about jealousy and grudge. Her clear voice is strong and ironic, but sometimes it’s soft and playful. In combination with her piano, her shows are always intense.

Daisy Chapman proved her stage qualities on several tours in the USA and Europe, not just as a solo artist, but also as a member of the Band “Crippled Black Phoenix” (www.myspace.com/crippledblackphoenix), a supergroup from England. In 2009, Daisy Chapman was decorated with the “Independent Music Award” for her Interpretation of the song “Umbrella”.
