about

Oxford's beloved alt-country favourites The Epstein came together from an idea hatched by singer/songwriter Olly Wills whileworking on a farm in the wilds of Wyoming.
The gorgeous songs and unique sounds they create are enhanced by the wide variety of instruments they use, including: acoustic, electric and Spanish guitars, percussion, bass, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki, glockenspiel, melodica, and backed with three part harmonies. The Epstein take us on a wondrous journey through Dustbowl Blues, Cinematic Soundscape, Wildman Folk, and Alt. Country Rock.
The Epstein were delighted to perform at Glastonbury 2007 , having won their slot through the festival’s Emerging Talent Competition - as one of five winners from 3,000 entries. They made three appearances at the festival, including a slot on the Acoustic Stage, alongside acts including KT Tunstall, Damien Rice and The Waterboys.
The Epstein have recently completed their self-produced debut album, Last of the Charanguistas.
