Im November wird das Album „Immortality“ des südafrikanischen Künstlers Adam Donen auf dem Label „SONGS & WHISPERS“ in Kooperation mit Dandyland nun auch in Deutschland veröffentlicht. Er beschreibt das Album selbst als „'the mausoleum of my childhood'.
Der gebürtige Südafrikaner und Sohn von Anti-Apartheits Aktivisten, Adam Donen, zog mit 18 Jahren nach London. Mit der Artrockband, Alexandria Quartett, tourte er 2006 und 2007 durch Großbritannien. In der Folgezeit widmete er sich der Lyrik und schrieb an Gedichten und Songtexten. Die Inspiration hierfür lieferten neben der 60er Jahre Band Love mit ihren Streicherarrangements, auch Größen aus den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen, wie William Shakespeare, Sylvia Plath oder Bob Dylan.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Produzenten Robert Harder (The Soho Dolls, Babyshambles, Kylie Minogue, etc.) entstand das erste Album ausgehend von dem Gedichtband, As Our Parents Slowly Turn to Clay. Immortality ist das Resultat der zweiten Kollaboration von Harder und Donen. In diesem Album kombiniert Adam lyrische Texte mit klassischer Folkmusik, unterstützt durch seine Begleitung an der Gitarre, sowie dem Einsatz von Bläsern, Streichern und Background-Sängerinnen.
